Cam Degreeing help

My plan is to install a 252H comp cam.
Everything i have read says at the factory ford put their cams in a 4° retarded(cam timing not ignition timing)
with the new cam what degree should I aim for.
And it's ok if you go hard on me, I have never did it before.
Being hard on me, may help me understand

The 252H cam card calls for the cam to be installed 4 degrees advanced with the intake lobe center at 106 degrees ATDC.
However for the sake of detonation I would install the cam straight up with the intake lobe center at 110 degrees ATDC.

The only way to know where the camshaft is in the engine is to put it in the block and check it out with a degree wheel, an indicator and a few other tools. This is easy and you'll learn a lot about your engine.
