Got a front seal leaking on my '88 F350 PS pump... Debating whether to replace the seal or buy a new or rebuilt pump.
I haven't done any research into the seal number... kinda hoping somebody may know the parts number. I'm pretty sure most any good bearing supplier would have them as I have had good luck in previous deals like this.

I have never had any luck with replacing the seal(s). I replace the pump. The last pump and steering gear I bought was from Lares. They have been holding up well.

Well I found that seal kits are readily available from my local parts houses... years ago I had to source them from an industrial supply house that specialised in bearings and seals.
All of these seals and bearings are just normal bits and pieces used in all sorts of different applications. I wish my local source for this stuff hadn't closed years ago.
As far as buying vs repairing I'd sooner do it myself rather than trusting a rebuilt redone in a faraway land.
Lares has upped their game in the last few years with their expanding lineup of new pumps but I'm still soured over a bad pump I bought that didn't work as hoped and their customer no service was lacking.

I tried that approach once. My wife has had her '70 Mach 1 since before we were married almost 40 years ago... The car is all-original except for the exhaust that rotted away with age, but replaced with OEM-spec exhaust, but not a one-piece all-welded like original.. (-- points taken off at shows... I hate that kind of judging!)
ANYway, a couple of years ago the water pump went. The car has only 22k miles on a 55yo car.. BTW, nobody even offers re-manufactured pumps anymore - just newly manufactured 'Chinesium' crap. I wanted to retain the original pump casting date for originality, so I bought a rebuild kit. The bearing/seal/impeller kit costs more than a new Chinesium pump that I could buy at a parts store or online. Somehow or someway in the rebuild process, the new impeller shaft was- or got- bent and caused a terrible pulley/fan wobble. I ended up putting on a Chinesium pump anyway since I had a car show to attend that next weekend. I'll probably attempt to rebuild the original pump again this winter....
