I have an 83 F 150 with a C6. How difficult is it to change the front pump seal? I have access to all the tools I need but I have never done this before. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
You mean the input shaft seal? There is a pump seal under the front pump as well. The small seal that goes around the input shaft seal isn't bad though.

Hmm, no see um "input shaft seal" in the parts catalog illustration. Never sold one either, but have sold 1000's of front pump seals in 35+ years.
There's a front pump seal (C2AZ-7A248-A) and a large front pump "O" ring seal (C6AZ-7A248-A). You may need the gasket too = C6AZ-7A136-A
Verify that the torque converter lock nuts are OK...Ford still uses them today.

The actual front pump is just inside the front of the case held in by around 10 bolts. There is a gasket/seal behind that, therefor the front pump seal? I'm still learning too folks so don't get mad at me. There is also what I would call the front shaft seal/input shaft, what the torque converter sits on. Small like what you would see on an inner wheel seal for bearing maintenance. That one is the one most likely leaking anyway. I am sorry if I came across out of line. Also, the real seal/output shaft seals tend to leak and the pan gasket.
