LED reverse lights?

I would like to install some bright LED reverse lights so I can actually see when I back up. I'm not an expert on electrical stuff, but would it be ok to use them? I've heard before using LED bulbs instead of halogen can mess up resistance or something, and can burn out fuses/relays. Is this true? What do o have for options for bright reverse lights?

LED reverse lights are fine.
BUT i would leave the current bulbs alone, and add a let of LED lights under the bumper wired into the current reverse lights.

He said ADD the LED's for a reason
If you use only LED bulbs in the reverse light circuit, the TR sensor et al. will be pissed, and you'll have trans shifting trouble

I replaced the backup bulbs with LED this year and have been driving it for three months now. Haven't noticed anything hinky with the E4OD shifting.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ten years and somewhere around 180,000 miles with a flatbed and LED taillights and reverse lights for me. Resistor added to the stop/turn/tail but not the reverse light circuit. 378,000 miles on the original E4OD.

That said, an additional LED reverse light(s) is a good idea. LED bulbs into factory reverse light location seems unlikely to be very effective. A friend of mine used a small light bar, man does that light things up!

Did I miss where the OP stated what transmission is in the truck?
