I have a fuel leak on my 2000 7.3 powertroke, 4wd zf6, it leaks down from above the bell housing and i can see some smoke on the passenger side exhaust, im thinking its the fuel bowl drain valve or the fuel bowl itself, as i had to break the cap off with a hammer, i tried to use the valve the drain valve and it didnt do anything. any thoughts?
Verify leak location. Anything in the valley flows out the back and down the bell housing. The drain (if attached and unclogged) should flow down a pipe that dumps to front cross member. I had a dirt dobber clog my drain pipe once. Routed a wore clothes hanger up to free it up. If confirmed to be drain, rebuild it: https://dieselorings.com/products/12...lve-o-ring-set
Aside from the bowl, theres a fuel line that runs along passenger side of valley to the rear head that is prone to wear a rub spot where it mounts or the fitting at the back of the motor itself passenger side.

Found it, the problem was the aluminum fuel filter cap i bought. It wasn't seating fully and when under load pissed out diesel from the seal, new oem cap fixed it. New problem... oil is missing, knocking real bad this morning, no matter how much oil i put in it shows add quart, will drain and refill to verify real amount.
