I have fuel dripping out of my engine. It was dark last night so I could not get a good look at the source, but there is a big pudddle on the manifold. I opened the fuel drain valve and reclosed it to make sure that it was all of the way closed but the leak is still there.
I'd bet it is the o-rings on the drain valve...You can get them from a guy on eBay for $2-$3 delivered. I keep a set in my truck for the inevitable day...
I took it to the stealership.....They said they have to replace the fuel drain something or other...$350........yea, I know! They will have it ready in 2 hours though...hard to beat that. And considering I am in the middle of a job and have to get the materials there today!

This is an easy rebuild, in a matter of minutes, with about $1 worth of parts. I bet the dealer is just replacing the fuel filter bowl...get the old parts at least...then rebuild the drain and keep it as a spare. Please post the name of the dealership...they ought to be ashamed, but they aren't.
This is the reason I will not go to a dealer...this is unarmed robbery!
They said that after they fixed that leak there was another leak in a fuel hose /read mis-diagnosis/ and hit me for another $220.
The dealer is Universal Ford in Richmond, VA.
They said that because of the nw ulsd that I will have to add an additive to my fuel to keep the fuel system lubed or it will continue to keep failing. I am going to start a new post about this.
