When I originally placed my order on 10/3/25, Ford gave me a Production week of 11/3/25 (today). But then, a week later, my Production week changed to 11/10/25 (next Monday). But I just checked this morning and now it's showing to be in Step 3 "In Production" of the process, even though the "Scheduled Week Of" still shows to be 11/10/25, which is next Monday.
Anybody experience anything similar? And which should I believe?
In case you haven't watched the news or read online discussion forums, many of the Ford assembly plants are severely impacted (or down) due to the fire at the Novelis aluminum factory in NY back in SEP.
We produce a major sub-assembly for most NA market Ford and Lincoln vehicles. Right now, we are only shipping about 40% of the volume we normally ship to KTP for Super Duty. Many other plants are also affected, with some completely down (DTP and KCAP where the F150s are built, are both down).

So what you're most likely seeing is that it has been RELEASED to production, meaning you should now be able to see a window sticker and have a VIN. It very likely may go back to 'scheduled' and bump your date out, because what is likely going on is that it is going through 'procurement,' meaning that they're scheduling the actual components to build your truck and getting them in line.
Now, I could be COMPLETELY off on that, they might actually be going to build your truck next week...but it most definitely was NOT the case for me, and hasn't been the case for most people unless they bought a no-option truck.
Thank you. I do see a VIN, but I don't see a window sticker. The VIN has been there from the very beginning. Where would the window sticker be?

KTP is only running at about 40% last week and this week, and will continue to be affected due to the fire @ Novelis this past SEP. Ford does expect the Novelis plant to operational before the end of this year. The assembly plants will be running OT and building through the holidays to meet demand and recover production losses due to the fire. A third shift is being added back to Dearborn in 2026, too.

This sounds familiar from the last time I ordered in October 2021. I don't think "in production" necessarily means it's moving down the assembly line.
As far as his production week being pushed back, that's always been common. It's often pushed back more than once.
The aluminum component shortage is a real thing. The Novelis plant is about 60 miles from me and they had a heck of a fire recently. They're scrambling to catch up but it's going to be a process.

Oh no doubt about it, fires at aluminum plants are a mess and hard to put out. They used to be a lot more common too, when molten aluminum was delivered by specialized tanker trucks (most do the melt in-house now to cut down on those fires). Ever watch an aluminum tanker truck catch fire, and the driver jump in and haul @$$ out of the building to try to keep the entire building from catching? Interesting, to say the least.

I ordered an F250 Lariat 21 days after you (Oct 24th) which will be my first diesel and first Superduty. Please post updates on your truck's progress through delivery. This will be my first Ford order so I am curious as to whether the dealer or region makes a difference in delivery times. Although I live in SC, I ordered from Granger Ford in Des Moines, Iowa (high volume dealer = faster delivery??). Dealer indicated 2-6 month delivery which was surprising but I know that aluminum plant fire has an impact. Hoping that I can post a pic of my new truck in January while getting to know it on the 1,000 mile journey home. Thanks in advance for any info.

Will do. I also ordered from Granger Ford in IA. If you don't mind me asking, what step in the process does your order say it's in right now? I'm asking because I'm wondering if mine has been in step 3 for a while now and I just never realized it.

I only have the email I received from Ford the day it was ordered. When I click the "view online" it only shows the info in the email. No dates or updates.
So I just clicked on the "View Online" link in my original email and it says the same thing as yours. That link just takes you to a static, online version/copy of your email. If you have Ford account, and it uses the same email address as you used for your order, you should be able to login to your Ford account and see a better/more real-time status of your order. And I'd be curious what "Step" it shows your order in, if you don't mind sharing. If you don't have a Ford account, you should create one using the same email address that you used on your order. Your new truck order should show up as an open order on your account, as would any parts you've previously ordered using that email address.

OP, of all the plants Ford has the SDs at KTP is the least likely to be affected by the aluminum supplier issue. My order too was placed on Oct 3rd and it was done and shipped on 10/30. Your truck is probably scheduled based on the kitting it requires so it is likely determined by one of the component/part set rather than the aluminum. Hopefully it gets kitted out and assembled before the Thanksgiving week.
