Hi All, new to the forum, just picked up a 2021 Tremor with 91k miles. I immediately installed the SPE DPK and when reinstalling the MPROP valve one of the two screws stripped (spec is 35-45 in-lbs) and apparently I did a bit more. It is the screw near the fuel line that is added to the SPE adapter. The other fastener is fine. I ended up putting some JB Weld on the screw that stripped and got a bit of tension on it as much as I could. Between the good fastener and the fuel line being clamped down I think it should be ok since the O-Ring snapped in to place and my thought is it will take something drastic to allow that MPROP and adapter to pull out enough to produce a leak. Since the fastener spec is low torque I suspect it is not under a lot of stress when running. BUT, its bugging the hell out of me. Has anyone else made this amateur mistake and what did you do? Pretty much my only option is to replace the CP4 altogether. I drove 500 miles and so far its ok... FWIW
The arrow in the pic is pointing to the hole that was stripped that I ended up using the JB Weld on the screw in.
too many cases of high pressure errors due to air being sucked in.
find some one who is good at using an easy out kit and it will come out.
Easy out kit? The bolt didn't break, the threads in the hole stripped. So my options are to try tapping 1 size larger which I couldn't think of a worse place to try to do that since the top of the fuel pump would be exposed (even though i woul try to cover it of course). Option 2 is get a new cp4. $1000 mistake for a stripped hole. Frustrating as hell.
I thought about just upgrading to the S&S DCR but thats $2400 and with a new CP4 + disaster kit I *should* be fine for many years to come.
OR just leave it and maybe it will be just fine. 🤔🤷

^^^ these things are a godsent. The mounting holes for the ignition coils on my 25hp kohler stripped like they missed a loan payment (thanks aluminum), the 5mm version of the kit above saved my bacon. That said, drilling into a CP4 next to the FCV would definitely be a pucker moment with a hand drill.
