When I replaced my HPOP with an Adrenaline, I did not order Guzzle's Fuel Bowl O-ring kit, as Robin recommended (stupid me!!!). When I went to install the line back into the FPR the rubber sleeve oringy thing was bad, but hey, a little strong tightening on the nut and only a very small drip. So I ordered the kit from Guzzle (very quick ship!!) and went to install it yesterday. I tightened it back up, and it leaked, so I tightened it some more, and it still leaked, a little more and POP the threads came off of the FPR and I am up the creek. Calling the stealership today to see if they have one in stock. Two questions:
1) How do I get the threads out of the fuel nut?
2) How tight "should" the nut be once I get it fixed.
PS - I think I cracked the thread to FPR connection when I tighted in before, that is why it leaked with a new rubber sleeve, but I am not sure.
Thanks,
you better get another set of oring..never ever tighten them lines tight..the oring does the sealing...not the nut...you should hand tighten the nut till it hits the oring..then with a wrench give it a half turn..turn on key see if it leeks..if does..give it another 1/4 turn..guzzle also has the FPR housing as well..
Holy cow that was a tough repair!! There was no way to get the threads from the FPR out of the nut from the fuel line. I had to replace the return and supply fuel lines. Those quick release thingy's (not the same as the fuel supply side on the supply side of the fuel pump) were not easy to pop off. Ended up needing two different tools from the auto shop. Anyways, got it fixed but now my dang blasted fuel filter cap keeps leaking. So lesson learned - when needing to remove the fuel bowl for any reason, if you have not done it recently, but the o-rings and sleeve (or fuel bowl rebuild kit) from Guzzle's site, and get 'er done, or you will regret it.
