Tools used from the past

I was looking for my exhaust pipe expanders and ran across a tool used to adj/set points. It allowed you to set the points without having the distributor on the cam lobe. Also an old amp meter gauge that used induction to measure the current flow on generators/alternators.

Thought you may be interested in what we used in the 60's, 70's . Showing my age with these.....

A easy way to check generators and alternators. You just lay the output wire in the slot in the back.

That’s pretty cool! Not sure how the points Adjuster works, but that’s a nice little amp meter. I have kind of a klunky plastic one that I bought in about 78 or 79, but yours looks like it was a better quality. Back from the days when metal gauges were made in the USA most likely.

The collars slip over the distributor cam which open the point gaps. Depending on what gap you need you use a feeler gauge + the sleeve thickness gauge (included) to set you points. Quick and easy.
