high strength bumper search

in the hopes that someone has been there/done that and is willing to share info.....

looking into replacing my bumpers with a thick gauge stronger one.

looking for low profile with out the pregnant guppy look and no bush guards in front of the grill

any info would be appreciate

Great info

learned that some after market bumpers

don’t support collision assist radar device or if they say they do the radar device is installed 90 degrees off resulting in collision assist triggering when a vehicle passes you

some bumpers have a foot note about drw’s suggesting their bumper is not as wide as stock and those without the foot note may not be aware or don’t know

some hitches may prevent a front hitch

No aftermarket bumper can avoid the designed-in front frame crumple zones.

Some shockingly mild collisions have resulted in "totaled" trucks once the frame gets tweaked.

These might fall into the looks category you are trying to avoid, but they do have options for adaptive cruise and if you order for a F-450/550 they are wider to match the factory fender flares. They custom make them with whatever combination you want of bumper design with or without the full grill guard, winch or receiver tube mounts, and whatever lighting options you want.

low profile. Winch mount, and trailer hitch.

With adding winch capability Buck Stop is a great choice. If you decide later to add the brush guard it is a bolt on with their flagship bumper.

It was a stab at humor... revisit the link that 406f150 presented in Post #8, showing a truck with the bumper that you said "will do it." Now look at the grille of that truck.
