I just put a brand new starter in my 1999 Ford F250 super duty 7.3 L power stroke, and after installing it, I went to start it and like my batteries were dead so I charged them and after they were both fully charged, I went to start it and it cranked for about two seconds then pulled a single click every time I would turn my key without any start so I thought it was my starter again, but it’s not even a day old so then I thought it was my relay, but I still don’t know what it can be please help!
Is it just clicking and then nothing happening? What happens when you jumper across the relay, does it crank? It should IIRC. If not you could have more major issues.
Across the two main pins of the relay, that the heavy gauge wires attach to. Use something metal with some meat to it (and wear rubber gloves), and touch both contacts at the same time. If it cranks, it's not the starter. If it tries but doesn't crank, the engine could be hydrolocked.
