Hey folks, I have a 2024 F350 Lariat. Nice darned truck, but there is one thing that bothers me. That front fairing below the bumper is too large. I was thinking about taking it off, but I figured I'd better ascertain the consequences before I do, as I'm not sure of its purpose. For reference, I do tow a 15000 GVRW fifth wheel trailer with this truck. Is there something critical that I should be aware of or is this just a mileage enhancement for .00001 mpg?
I took a 2.5" block and drew a line following the bumper contour and cut it will a jig saw. Came out perfect. The hardest part was removing the Prius catchers...
Is there a reason to put a smaller fairing over just removing it and going naked?
There is probably some aerodynamic benefits to the dam... but if you are worried about fuel mileage, you bought the wrong truck. It may look a little odd without it.
Charlie98 is correct. Without a valance the front end looks unfinished. You can see things that look better covered up rather than being exposed.
This; there are exposed wires/looms on the bottom of the bumper lip which makes running without a valance look poor as well as potentially exposing that wiring to more weather and road debris.

In the end, it's pretty much looks and personal preference.
The 4x4 version is hideously large (wide); the 2WD is just about right, and looks good; the Tremor version is too short, IMO. That's completely subjective of course.
Since we're still paying the vehicle off, I decided to just buy the 2WD version and swap it out, and not cut it off myself.
