I did the same, just removed the air dam completely then brushed on some thick black Rustoleum over the exposed hardware so it blends in. This is the most normal look for SD’s, with the Tremor air dam being an ok alternative albeit an expensive one.

Only matters if you care, I don't think you can say the trucks with nothing look worse( I prefer the look of them vintage style). it probably will only matter to get the most mpg. Lots of things we do for looks so enjoy your trucks and have fun.
If you remove it, at least cut the ugly mounting tabs off your bumper too. Smooth it out.
I'd rather spend $99 for the very small S&B version that you almost can't even see vs make those permanent cuts on the truck. A potential new buyer might not like the look and want the factory look. If you still have the larger valance, you can just pop it back on. Just my $0.02.

there is literally no reason to ever sell your truck unless you got a lemon. Am I the only one who has bonded with his truck? 🤣🤣

Very few people on here own a truck that is used as a truck let alone keep it beyond the warranty. There's plenty of "I've owned 40 Super Duties since 1999" stories on here. And they tow a lawn mower trailer.
