94 F350 460. My Son’s truck has a block off dowel in his timing chain cover on the top. It’s definitely not the original cover. What was supposed to go in the hole that is blocked off?
I don't think there was ever a reverse rotation water pump for 429/460s. Even the 2-belt faux serpentine (flat ribbed belt) '90s trucks were standard rotation.
So does that mean it has a standard rotation timing cover with a reverse rotation pump or does that not apply to 460’s like it does with 302/351W’s?
That is a great question! We had his motor rebuilt a Couple yeas ago and they never put the backing plate on the water pump. I just found that out because I am replacing the pump. What is interesting is that his truck never ran hot without the backing plate. I have read and been told the motor would overheat without it. That was not the case for us
