On vacation this past week and the rear driver side window glass separated from window regulator assembly. Somehow in the process of trying to go back up with the window, it bent one side of the assembly. I took the door apart and hammered and pried the assembly back straight enough to get the window rolled back up. Already ordered a new fomoco window regulator assembly.
On the actual glass itself there are two clips that are glued to the bottom of the glass at each end. Those clips then bolt into the regulator assembly, and your window rolls up and down. On my truck, the adhesive failed on those two clips, separating the glass from the regulator assembly. Clips are still bolted to the regulator assembly but are not glued to the glass. If the window is not fully rolled up, I can literally grab the glass and manually pull it up and down. My question, can I buy these clips, or do I have to buy entirely new glass? One of my original clips is pretty bent. You can see the clips in this pic.
I’m going to swing by Safelite today. I have a rock chip in the windshield I need to have looked at. I’ll ask about those window channels. If they don’t have anything I’ll prolly give the ones off Amazon a try
