I just acquired an older Ford F600 and I am having trouble decoding the vin for a bill of sale. If anyone can and would help I would greatly appreciate it.
Ricky.

Reason: Better title
Welcome to FTE! I moved you to this forum as this is the place for an F600
F60 = F600 gas, 4x2
E = 361 2V FT gas V8
C = Ontario Truck Plant
T11672 = 1974 numerical series, October 1973 production
182 = 182 inch wheelbase
T = Red
F602 = F600 gas, 4x2, 19,200 lbs GVWR
538
53 = Red/Dark Red Met. (Metallic?)
8 = Standard cab, cab and chassis vehicle, Cataloged as "81A"
A = New Process model 435 four speed transmission
F3 = Eaton model 15201 two speed rear axle, 15,000 lbs capacity, 6.33 / 8.81 ratios
No front axle code. This is not a special order truck and should have a code. Given the GVWR and rear axle rating, figure at least a Ford 5,00 lb capacity axle without power steering. You can look at the axle for other identifying numbers to confirm.
19200 = 19,200 lbs GVWR
21 = Atlanta District Sales Office
No special order.
Since this was a October build it is possible it was on the lot and even sold during the last weeks of 1973. SOMETIMES these get tagged as THAT model year on the title.
So if you see it as a '73 in your efforts to run it down, that's probably the reason.
