AC Delete?
AC Delete?

This truck has factory AC. Some of the hoses are cracked and it hasn’t worked in years. My question is: Can I remove all the hoses from the pump and under the hood and leave the pump in place for the sake of the belt. So long as the power is disconnected and the clutch can’t engage, it’s not going to matter…right? Wrong? Thanks

or you could fix it and have a functional a/c system. You’ve been using the truck with all that stuff in place so why bother to remove it now? If the system is empty or low on refrigerant the low pressure switch will keep the clutch from from engaging.
If the bearing fails on the compressor, take it out and get a shorter belt or get a delete pulley and keep the same belt. Here is some interesting reading: AC and Smog Delete Serpentine Belt - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans
You can also just replace the compressor hub bearing and pulley pretty easily
No need to take the cracked hoses off it
With a new manifold it may be able to be made work someday
All there is for A/C hoses on your truck is the manifold assembly (both high and low side hoses off the compressor) and the High side hose, condenser to evaporator
So, a manifold and a high side hose and you could be back in business with working A/C possibly
If you ever sell that truck, the new owner is gonna want A/C
