Water Pump Time Again

What brand is everyone using these days?
15 years ago it was Airtex and it was said they were the original supplier to Ford.
5 years ago it was the factory look a like with no numbers cast into it sold by most of the popular Diesel suppliers.
So here nearing the end of 2025 what pump do I want?

Welp, Airtex doesn't seem to make it anymore, so there's that.

Well that’s weird, I bought an Airtex from RockAuto 3 years ago, and sure enough it’s not listed. Motorcraft is but I’m not sure who is making or rebuilding those.

I did a Gates 43546 a couple of years ago and it hasn't had any issues so far.

Just make sure that ribbed gasket when installed on new WP sits above the face on the WP or you may experience some leaks.

Gates. But order from anyone but Amazon. Bad warranty experience here.

I had that very problem on the last 2 I did 15 years ago. It seems to fit nicely into the groove-too nice-too deep....
How do you get around this?

04/23/2023 is what my records show for a new Motorcraft from Riffraff.

Worth a look.

I think I used a Gates branded one last time. Only been 2 years, but so far so good.

That pump was being sold by many of the Diesel specialty sites. It was said to be a Motorcraft replica without the numbers.
Thats the one I bought and installed 4-5 years ago as well.

I think that's what I put on a couple years ago was the Navistar brand one that Riff-Raff sells for about $175. Couldn't say what the difference is between it and the "Motorcraft" one that's about $20 less. They all look pretty much the same to me except for the cast iron ones you have to paint that have the built in coolant filter. I'd replace the pulley too while you're at it because they do get worn down by the belt trying the spin that fan with the clutch locked.
