I just saw this on Facebook, mine is at 4.8ish degrees now, tracks straight, but something is too stiff, or the pump is too weak. Takes two hand to make it turn.

Straight down the road, almost no play, no pull. Usually shoot for 6 degrees but bought the 2deg shims when I had it at 6” lift. Was a 6” superlift, took out a leaf up front and removed the rear blocks, sits dead level as a 4” lift.
37” Toyo’s, 40psi
All new front end from the steering shaft down. Only items I haven't touched yet are sway bar and leaf spring bushings.
Hopefully these specs help those chasing wandering and pull.
Adjustable cams solve a lot of the front end issues on the Excursion and especially the newer Super Duties. 2-4 degree cams make a world of difference when it comes to getting these trucks properly aligned.
Summer 2007, Rudolph developed death wobble due to the front end being worn and the suspension being worn out as well. To that end, I lifted him 6 inches and added adjustable cams. I had to grind the 2wd front end, but it's worked well ever since. No more death wobble, the front ends last a lot longer, and even with a questionable front end, the truck drives reasonably straight.

I bought the 2 degree shims, and took my truck to my favorite shop.
the Alignment tech pooh poohed the shims, and said "nope" I ordered Adjustable cams which allows me to adjust Camber and Caster separately.
oh well, he has always made every vehicle track straight as a string.
I went back and asked him why my Excursion takes 14 hands to turn it.
He said the Moog ball joints are stiffer than hell, it will take a long time for them to loosen up. Wish I had known that is what he would buy, I have always told them to buy "the best" which to me would have been the "S" brand, memory escapes me on that one.
Will just a new pump solve the problem, or do I need PSC ram assist?if just a new pump, get one from Ford? I hear they are only remans now from shina.
Just the pump did it for me... it was from Napa, don't recall if it was reman or not, more than likely so, but, fingers crossed, that was a few yrs ago and still going strong, knock on da wood.
2. Power steering fluid level. Low/no fluid will do this
3. Weak PS pump. If your pump is original, then its 20+ yrs old. They wear out. This is probably your most likely culprit. The seals wear out and the pump bypasses leaving you with no steering.
4. You have small tires, you dont need a PSC hyd assit steering kit.

5. Moog products arent great.
well, my tires are in my signature: 285/75R/16 Michelin LTX Defender tires
the Moog crap was put on before I knew what the tech was going to do, I griped at him over that,
PS fluid is at the top....
the pump is probably OEM.
if I do something, I will replace the Moog crap and get a new pump
