Looks like a "Dorman" logo on that cap (it isn't a Ford cap).

I wouldn't use Dorman for any critical parts.

You need a new OEM oil filter standpipe.

Tousley Ford, White Bear Lake became Apple Ford, White Bear Lake.

That looks like the oil filter element bypass is open that way (the standpipe is supposed to be the bypass if the filter plugs up).

Buy OEM parts at a local dealership or from well-known on-line dealerships.

There are a few other on-line businesses that can be trusted when they claim OEM, but not a lot of them. I think I would send an oil sample out for analysis. Looks like a number of poor decisions have been made with this truck.

Just to let you know, for the second time, I ordered a part from Tasca Ford that was listed 'in stock', it wasn't, and it took 10 days to get.

Well that's unfortunate.

I have used Apple Ford once since they bought out AutoNation (Tousley). No issues, so maybe that's a better option. I had a specific person that I dealt with when they were Tousley and AutoNation. Not sure if he is still there or not. Contacting a specific person may cut through those "system type problems".

Tasca also has an individual over internet sales that could possibly help like Tousley did. His name is Steve, I have his email address. I'll see what he has to say.

Ok, got the parts ordered. Should be arriving tomorrow. Will be nice to get the old boy back on the road. Thanks again @bismic , Ill post a vid when its done. Im also going to need to address that tranny filter soon. Tranny oil is full and bright red, doesnt smell burnt. Not really sure why the filter housing looks so nasty. Im going to clean it all up and see if I can spot a leak.

Good deal. Lots of people here ready and willing to help. Many people think that a lot of the advice is very conservative, but with the 6.0L, it is wise to be conservative. Go with things that have been time-tested and shown to work!
