hey all, 1999 F-250 Super-duty...
I'm struggling with a persistent ABS light, months ago i took to Les Schwabs and they could not diagnose an issue, the light remains on. while driving i noticed the light was off, and when i applied the breaks i felt the ABS system firing and had very little breaks then the ABS light came back on. now the pedal has become very soft... when i slam on the breaks the back tires will lock up Front ABS only i assume... ICON CODE reader showed both wheel speed sensors were not getting signal, i replaced both front wheel speed sensors. L side code cleared R did not... ABS light still on. i will replace the R side with a second new sensor. while pumping the breaks with the engine off i get some leakage into the power steering reservoir... noticed dripping from the cap. This has been a somewhat progressive problem and now i have to address it... any thoughts, advice would be much appreciated... i think there is likely more than one issue going on,
no recent break work done... i have the ability to see speed sensor data... there was a couple other codes present (not necessarily ABS related) when cleared haven't returned.
ok... so a new speed sensor installed new break pads L AND R ABS code self cleared... but still soft pedal, i'm thinking leaky master cylinder... your thoughts?
