wally being Wally

So, I was in Wally a couple of weeks ago and I bought some jeans. They had a yellow plastic clip on them that I figured was a security tag. Why I don't know, Wally seemed to have given up on doorway security monitors because of things like false alarms. ( I have worked on security systems and retail is a bitch)

Anyway, I wanted to try them on, so I got a flat bladed screwdriver and rotated it in the spit area and lo and behold it opened. A little metal piece dropped out.

I looked them up and found that that kind usually is full of ink and if you try to remove the tag it squirts ink all over the place . Idea is to make the stolen item worthless to you, so you won't take any more. Places that use that system usually have signs so you might not even try/

This tag may also have had some kind of electronic gimmick. IDK.

Whole thing was just strange. Nobody at the cash registers got a tool to remove the tag, which is how this stuff is supposed to work. Had it sprayed me with ink, I would have gone back to Wally with my sales slip and said WTF dude.

As it is, the tag is not easy to remove unless you have some idea of the way it should work.

But as with many other things Wally, they just don't care.

I don't like going there, but they do have a lot of good prices - as well as selling a lot of junk. But I go and get the stuff I know is OK and cheap.

I have argued with a few folks about receipt checking. Somebody on FTE once said that it's illegal, but they would say it's just policy. Finally a nice young lady said well no, we can't make you do this. If you say no and walk away there's nothing that they can do. I may just do that next time.

Don't like the Waldo World parking lot curbs. a pita
Seldom shop there. Rulers and Snooks are much
handier and user friendly. and I don't shop for clothes
much anymore. ... ...
Most likely the driving reason to go to Waldo is for the 1 mile walk around for exercise mostly.

Sorry LARRY I didn't see this earlier. No I have a collection of Decades of clothes still looking well to wear.
My thing is Walldo, this is not Florida and the curbs have to go so snow can move on.
