Overhalling Twin I Beam Suspension

Hello everyone,
I'm in the process of overhauling the front axle of my '77 F250. All bearings and spindle pins need replacing.
The drawing shows a seal (3178). Does anyone know where I can get one? It's not included in any kit.
Thanks in advance, Tobias

I believe that should be part of the king pin set.

I hope you can find an alignment shop that can actually align your Twin-I-Beam using bottle jacks and chains to bend the I-arms.

Thanks for your answer, but I'm not sure what you mean by alignment. The I-beam arms have a fixed setting, right?

They bend the I-beans to set caster an camber, they are not "adjustable" like other 2wd vehicles.
A close friend inherited his grandfather's 1966 F-250 2wd and basically restored it.
It was a beautiful truck.
The shop I was working in at the time rebuilt is 352 and the auto trans.
His tires were not wearing even, it looked like maybe just a toe-in adjustment.
I recommended an alignment shop named Val's Alignment. My dad golfed with Val and he had an impeccable reputation.
Val was probably the only guy who actually aligned twin I beam by bending the I arms to get everything back to where it should be.
My friend Mark told me the truck drove like brand new. Smooth, strayed and just easier to steer.
Some big truck alignment shops might still have an old guy that can properly align your truck.
An "old school" mechanic.

Unfortunately, old-school mechanics are rare. I'll see how the truck drives after everything's put back together...

Hello everyone,
My front axle overhaul is progressing, and I'm putting it back together. According to the workshop manual, the marked bolt is rated at 240-320 ft-lbs, which is correct. I've never seen that much before, but I've never seen a bolt that big. 😀
Thanks in advance.
Regards, Tobias

When I rebuilt my 81 F100 front suspension I just did it "goodntight" all it is holding is the bottom of the spring to the beam
I have not had any problems in 6 years and over 28K miles with mine.

Now as for finding a shop that can bend the beams good luck as I could not but the shop said only the toe was out a little.

I dont think any of the shops that do cars will do anything but toe, at least the ones I talked to around me.
The shop that did throw it on the rack when I asked know about bending the beams and told me up front they did not do bending.
Because they "knew" is why I had them rack it and it turned out just toe was off.

You may want to check into large truck repair shops to see if they will bend if it need it.
