So I bought a BD diesel idle control kit for my F550 Godzilla. Easy Plug and Play install. It works great. You can set the idle for between 800 RPM and like 2400 RPM. I set it at about 1,000 RPM. I'm a hot shot driver so I put it to use. One of the additional side benefits of this kit is that it defeats the timed automatic engine shut down feature that Ford has programmed into the vehicle. So basically you can idle the truck all night long if you want to.
it's an awesome product.

I'm curious... BD doesn't market it for the gassers. Did you axe them if it would work with the 7.3, or did you just throw it on there?
I called them (BD) on the phone and spoke to one of their reps and he told me that this part number would work for my truck. (1036613)
2023 7.3 Gas Godzilla. Actually found it cheaper online from somebody else and saved about $10.
if you go to the BD website I don't think it shows that it works for a gas engine so they need to fix that. If you order one from someone make sure you order the right part number for your application or it won't work. Depending on the year you may have to modify their harness by moving pins around per their instructions sheet.
mine was completely Plug and Play fairly simple.
the hardest part is locating the harness behind the fuse box on the passenger side and getting your hands in there to connect the harness.
here is a pic of the instruction sheet that came with the kit. Cheers...
Weird, what does it do? I've idled mine for 10 hrs plus at a time in the summer without any adverse effects that I can tell.
My motor noticeably struggles after running idle for a while, the rpm bounces a bit, and I can hear sounds that sound almost like an idler rattle but it's apparently not it. It always goes away when I gently applies throttle for a few seconds.
No idea if it is related to the fuel pump issue, but between that and the oil pump problem the 20-22 version had, who knows.

Yes for sure. Do it all the time. It/s a 7.3 xlt. I was told in a forscan post it was because of being a gasser? or xlt. Can't remember it was a while ago. But again it doesn't. I am on a cross country trip and have been sleeping at rest stops during the long days of miles I'm doing and have gone an hour many times.
