Start looking for another SD-48E computer.
i just picked one up, remanufactured, caps replaced, but doesn’t get second gear in drive.
so, even if your caps are replaced, there could be other problems with the ecu.
It is more than the SD-XXX , that is the hardware id number. That hardware was used in many different vehicles, with many different setups.
The F5TF-XXX num is the part number and the DOE0 is the actual Catch Code AKA tune used by the strategy under the F5TF part number.
Patty cakes60, Your best bet is to get your updated with fresh Capacitors,
wwhite - If you still have your original ECU get that one fixed if it is the caps. If you don't have it, look on the door jam and find the sticker with the correct information on it. If your engine is stock.
Trust me, I have been digging into this for a few years now.
One thing I just thought of.. The housing around the ECU had some of those stickers that said "warranty void if removed". Would this indicate that the ECU was replaced prior to me having the truck? Should I still try to match those numbers up?
Yep, I noticed the sharpie markings on the ECU as well. Is there a sticker on the door jam that has similar looking information?
Searching around (Google is your friend) I am seeing several results matching the DOE0 Catch Code to 95 F350s with 460 motors, so it very well could be the right one.
Also, remember that there is a chance that other owner of the truck may have swapped parts, making it a bit harder to know exactly what ECU you may need.
Do you know what transmission is in the truck?

Did some looking around and found the # F5AE-6E061-MYD on the door jamb. The transmission is an E4OD
Well, sent the ECU in to get checked and diagnosed. It came back "faulty" and it was repaired. Truck still won't fire up ☹️. I've sent an email on what specifically was faulty and I'm still waiting on a reply.
