HERES THE DEAL, I HAVE A 5.0L '88 FUEL INJECTED BRONCO. I WENT MUDDING AND I HIT A DITCH AND MY TRUCK JUST STALLED. WELL I GOT IT HOME AND I PLAYED WITH IT SOME SO HERES WHAT I GOT. I AM NOT GETTIN FUEL TO THE MOTOR. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I SPRAYED STARTIN FLUID INTO THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT WOULD CRANK AND RUN. SOOO...I OBVIOUSLY GETTIN SPARK, JUST NO FUEL. WELL I CHECKED THE FUEL TREE AFTER CRANKING IT AND NOT MUCH PRESSURE WAS THERE. I ALSO DID NOT HEAR THE FUEL PUMP TURN ON WHEN I TURNED THE KEY FORWARD. SOOO....WHAT I DID WAS I HOOKED THE FUEL PUMP DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY AND TRIED TO CRANK IT...IT WOULD NOT START. SO IM THINKIN THAT THERE MIGHT BE SOMETHIN WRONG WITH MY FUEL INJECTORS, MAYBE NOT OPENING BECAUSE THERE MIGHT BE SOMETHIN WRONG WITH MY COMPUTER...BUT IF THAT WAS THE CASE, I WOULDNT GET SPARK. SO I DONT KONW WHAT THE DEAL IS. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS GUYS. <---I JUST THOUGHT THESE WOULD BE FUNNY!!!
Yeh I Thougth About That, And I Think I Found The Inertia Switch-right Behind The Brake Peddal- And I Fliped It Up And Down, And In Both Positions Tried Cranking It With The Fuel Pump Hooked Directly Up To The Battery. It Still Didnt Crank But Even If The Inertia Switch Was Cut Off, With The Pump Hooked To The Battery, Wouldnt It Still Crank? Or Does The Inertia Switch Cut Off More Than Just Teh Fuel?
Your going to have to check for codes, if the CEL ever comes on then you have a fairly serious problem. The CEL doesn't even have to come on for there to be codes. You only need a paper clip to check for codes, check out www.fordfuelinjection.com it describes the whole proceedure and has descriptions of what the various sensors do.
