Swelling lug nuts
My XL has steelies and came with caps. I have a Rocket Socket which has been loaned to many of my friends with Jeeps and Fords to remove swollen lug nuts.

BINGO! Back in the 90's they didn't have one, but we requested one to Snap-On, looks like they finally made it.
Ones that have exposed lugnuts. Those with caps of the lugs have open washer style lugs. Frankly I have yet to see a Superduty with exposed lugs, all trims seem to have a cap on them. Maybe on steelies?

Then they changed the style of the wheels. The ones with caps don't have the bevel for the cone, instead they are flat where the washer makes contact. Glad I have a DRW, those wheels haven't changed since I had my 99 DRW. Would not be surprised if the rims off my 99 would fit my 24.

The chrome one show rust shortly after the plating gets cracked. I tried them and am going back to the capped ones. Yeah they swell a bit but looked better for years, the plated ones were showing rust after a year and half.
Maybe if impact guns are not used they might last longer. If your are in the rust belt, maybe rust plated nuts are better then swollen capped nuts.

I don't recall and can't find where I ordered them from. I think this is where I ordered them from but not 100% sure, https://www.coyoteaccessories.com/86k848
There are not to many places selling chrome plated lug nut of this type so I would not be surprised if they come from the same manufacturer. Also chrome plating is not what it used to be if it is actually chrome (could be nickel or similar plating or anodizing). I don't see any hint of a copper base plating that is typically under chrome plating either.
A zinc plating would be better at preventing rusting as the surface gets damages from impact guns and road debris, it just would not look as nice as chrome or capped.

Last time I was in for tire service, the Discount Tire guy said my (lug) nuts were swollen. Seems over time, the Ford two different metal lug nuts swell after repeated heating/cooling cycles. Who would have thought that? (Well, about anyone with any mechanical/metallurgical background. )
But I digress.
Is there a good recommendation for single metal lug nuts that won't do this?
