2017+ Recon Cab Lights Install
I made an individual light template out of a piece of cardboard.
Removing the sun visors and A pillar covers is pretty straight forward. The headliner will come down far enough to see up in there. If you have a glass roof I understand that it’s not really any harder to access.

You want to start with the center light first. Put some painters tape down in the general area where the light will go. I measured back from the windshield gap and marked where the front of the light should go. I then lined up the front of the cardboard template that I made and centered it.
Drill the hole for the plug and only that hole.
I haven’t even made the first payment yet!
Painters tape works well to pick up debris
Note that the side center lights are mounted slightly rearward of the center light. The outside lights are even further back. There's no absolute here as long as the lights mount on a flat surface. The main thing is to make everything uniform, like a mirror image.
Once you place the light on the roof with the wires through the hole, you can then mark the 2 mounting screw holes. Making sure the light is exactly where you want it and that it is straight in line front to rear. The painters tape makes it easy to see where to drill the mounting screw holes. I used a punch tool (not shown) to divot each drill spot to keep the drill bit from sliding around. Be sure to use a bit that is smaller than the hardware.
It's important that the center light is perfectly centered. Once you have the center light installed, it's just a matter of measuring back from the windshield channel and over from the center light. Measure multiple times because you can only drill once.
I applied electrical tape (not shown) around the wires where they go through the roof. You could use grommets instead but at least do something to protect the wires. Use a proper sealant to seal out the weather when mounting the lights in place. I used a sun/water proof silicone from a hardware store.
You can then plug the wire harness to the 5 lights and run the harness down and to the bottom of the passenger side A pillar.
Use the screws to mark their locations in the painters tape
Note the screw marks
Now here’s what I did… not recommended but it works for me. I simply cut and spliced in-line connectors to make my connections. There are more than a few ways to do this and it’s up to you to determine how you want to do yours. I really wish that Recon would include the proper plug on their harness to make this a 100% plug and play project.
Note: If you decide to tap into a 12 volt source somewhere else. Make sure that you don't use a parking light supply that will flash on and off when using the blinkers.

I did the same thing only with 17+ OEM roof marker lights on my 2017 F150(same roof/cab)
Only thing i did differently is i had no template for the mounting positions. So i covered the entire front section of the roof with painters tape so i could mark measurements and draw and not scratch any paint.
i also used a small piece of sheet metal for the template for the lights vs cardboard.
Its a rush to start chopping into a perfectly good roof panel hahaha.
overall a wonderful right up!
