I checked with Pertronix and they say the reverse polarity will immediately damage the ignition. Looks like that is the culprit. I have kept all of my old parts so I can use them in the future. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thank you everyone.
Hmm, I just thought of something.
When you hooked up the battery backwards, did you actually turn the key on? Or did you discover your issue right away and nothing got turned on?
Reason I’m wondering, is that if you did not turn the key on, then no reverse polarity would’ve been seen at the igniter module I wouldn’t think.
That is unless reversing it affects the ground, even if the circuit isn’t complete? Still too many things to learn!
