I have been working on installing a 4" lift on my 84' bronco and am worried that my tire may have shifted backwards. What I am really wondering is if my front spring is supposed to perfectly vertical or be at a slight angle? Currently my spring is at a 5-degree angle. I will attach some images as well as my attempt to mockup the fender and look at the location.
It appears that you do not have any weight on the suspension since you have your rig on a two-post lift. It makes sense that the spring would angle back like that due to how the radius arms pivot the axle in an arc.
When you get it back on the ground with full weight on the suspension you can recheck it, but I don't think it is anything to worry about. The spring won't be perfectly vertical all the time just due to the suspension design.
I do have all the weight off the lift and it is just sitting on the body mounts. With my current set up I’m only off by the front clip weight. I did simulate the front clip by setting a pallet of 400 lbs on the front horn and the angle did not improve more then a half degree. I only have 31’s right now and plan to go to 33’s so it might make the issue even worse.

What lift kit? How would it have shifted rearward? Did you remove and relocate the radius arm bracket or only install radius arm and axle pivot drop brackets in the stock locations?

The lift kit is from Jack it. It’s a combination of a couple different brands but the longer radius arms are from skyjacker. I love everything about the kit except it didn’t give us the length we needed to move the arm brackets back. We ended up using an old skyjacker manual from the 90s to get the length. I cannot currently find that manual but it said 16in backwards. I do believe it is a problem considering my wheel base is now down to 102in, sadly I don’t have the original length but I’m assuming it should be around 105in.
I wouldn’t use a hodgepodge of parts from different manufacturers but that’s just me.
Sure you do. It’s right there on the driver’s side B pillar sticker.
I wouldn’t really call it hodgepodge. The it really is a BDS kit with skyjacker radius arms and bilsteen shocks. All of which are players in the lift world. But I understand your skepticism and thank you for the advice!
