Steering locking while driving

Randomly, while driving (such as turning) sometimes it locks. Not the u-joint and not the power steering. Clock spring looks good. What else could it be? My bronco is a 1996, with Tilt steering column with cruise control.
any help is deeply appreciated.
Thank you, and God bless.

How long have you had the truck?
New issue that just popped up?
Any recent work on the front end?

Had the truck for a few years now. It's a new issue that just popped up. Haven't done any recent work on the front end. Besides replacing ball joints

Had a guy drive his truck up onto the Jersey barrier on the freeway
Towed it in and I found no problem at all with the column or anything else (it was a brand new truck) maybe 8k miles on it
Guy swore up and down, the steering locked up on him
Highway Patrol was all excited about it
Later found his column bearings were indeed locking up intermittently
With tilt, it's a
Pain in the rear to replace e those bearings, but DO IT

Or the outer u-joints are bad.

Not rushing you but it’s been two months. Have you made any progress with this?
