I have the Whipple stage 1 on my '25 F-150 5.0. Two questions: 1. Can I put their smaller pulley on to gain some boost w/o problems? 2. Any way to defeat the throttle shut-off mode before each shift when full throtte, (custom tune not available with SCT yet)?
I have a Whipple on my 24 F-250 Godzilla. From what I have read, a smaller pulley will put you over 18k rpm, and some guys that have done that have had failures, and Whipple won't warranty it. 18K is the maximum RPM under warranty, from what I have read. I'd call and ask them..
I have a Kenne-Bell on my 95 F250/5.8/E4OD. I have a good 20 years on this set up and I have had no issues with this supercharger. I run the stock 8 psi pulley. I tow a 10k 5th wheel 90% of the time. It has about 130k now.
My opinion is to leave well enough alone. What you got was never designed by the factory. You are pushing it more than it was designed and you really do not want to push your luck. It is ideal that you reduce the power for the transmission to shift. There is a reason for that feature. If the factory did not think it could handle the stock power, what make you think that it can handle the extra power you are putting out?
Not trying to sound like a jerk [but I do all the time] but if the truck is running good now. Enjoy what you got.
