Voltage regulator?

Guys on fb said this is a voltage regulator(next to solenoid)i could see that being the case but every other one ive seen on the fords I've owned looks much different. Question is, is that what it is and what is the yellow wire? It runs all the way into the cab under the dash on drivers side and is not hooked up to anything really more curious that anything.

Voltage regulator. If it's not charging change it.

It charges fine its always on the high side according to the guage I usually just test with the multimeter but I wonder what that yellow wire is for. Is it stock or some random regulator.

It's factory. The yellow wire would go to a dash light or to a gauge to show voltage i think.

I agree it does not look like any external mount Ford regulator that I have seen. They use a 4 terminal push connector. This looks to use terminals with screws. My guess is this is a relay.
