Voltage reg ???

I have a 3 wire alt. that goes right to the silanoid (sp).My voltage reg is peged to the + side.... What should I do to fix this???? Should I have a voltage reg wired up in line. and if so where and what type?

The truck is a 65 with a 352. stock

From: Blairsville,Ga

three wires fron alternator
one wire from Alt B+ to battery side of solinoid
one from Alt F to voltage regulator F F= Field
one from Alt S to voltage regulator S S= Stator
