Having some rear brake issues on my 96' F350. Started with the yellow ABS light coming on occasionally, with no change in brakes. Now, when I have to brake hard, the rears lock up and release randomly, without the light coming on. Im assuming this is the Rabs module? Anything I should check/test first? Thanks.
Thanks for these, Ill probably bypass it like the OP in the first post did, just because that module is kind of hard to find.
My other truck is down right now, the new transmission broke for the second time, so If I can just disable the RABS in the short term, that would be very convenient.
I just tried it with the RABS unplugged, I do not recommend do that, super sketchy. The rear brakes lock up super easy, under medium-ish braking. Its like the brakes aren't proportioned properly without the RABS hooked up.
I plugged it back in, and did some hard braking, and now it seems to be working well. Ill get a little squeak out the the rear wheels, then the abs seems to be working well. I also did some hard braking on a dirt road, and that really seems to have helped. Maybe it had some crud in it? I drive like an old man, so I very rarely have to do any hard braking, maybe it hadn't activated in a while and was sticking?
Im going to order a new RABS, and flush the whole brake system when I install it this week.
