Just purchased a 08 Navigator, soon after purchasing from private party, the Brake light would come on randomly and flash and with it the display would say "parking brake engaged" which it isn't also and most annoyingly it would also "chime" nonstop, dealer pinpointed problem as abs module, question is can these be rebuilt? or bite the bullet with a $1050 part.
My 07 Navigator would not have brake fluid pressure at the driver's side wheel even after replacing all brake components including the hose. Traced the blockage to the ABS module. I was going to buy the new part for 1K but local shop insisted I could install used part. He ordered used part for $75 and had someone come over to program it and it works excellent.
A few months before had to replace ABS pump on 08 Mountaineer and bought new part for $500 and had Ford do their powerbleed with IDS software because they convinced me it was mandatory. The Navigator just had shop bleed it and I have a firm pedal (firmer than the Mountaineer)
