Daytime Running Lights help

23 F250 Lariat Ultimate

So when functioning properly when should the “C” style LED Daylight Running Lights come on and go off ?

I noticed at night on remote start they used to come on prior to me getting in and engaging the ignition button and didn’t last night ?

Also are they always on during the day or does the headlight settings or switch effect if they run or not ?

If I have stock Forscan do they stay off when driving after dark ?

I need to be sure they are running right since I’m coming up on warranty expiration and unsure what “right” is ! 😆

On my 2023 F350 XLT Premium Tremor the C lights are on for DRL. But I always have the headlight switch in the Auto position. They come on when the vehicle is put into gear.
As far as after dark I guess I never really paid attention.

Anyone willing to remote start their truck in the dark and tell me if their C style running lights come on ?

Mine are not but I’m sure they used to……

Thanks in advance !

I believe they should be on during remote start. When you start it from inside the cab they shouldn't come on until you put it in gear. After dark/with the headlights on I believe they're on, but like others I leave the switch in 'Auto' so I don't have to worry about it.

Mine aren’t functioning right. I’ve heard of some issues with the BCM and my buddy put his (mid-level) reader on it and sure enough there’s some BCM/ lights codes.

Back to the dealer I guess. Appreciate the help I received here as always. 👍👍

Are you sure they are turned on in the main console settings? I have mine turned off because I think they are super Fugly. I may have them tinted to reduce the whiteness of them.

They are “on” in the settings but great tip. Could easily happen !

Taking it in Monday. Will follow up here……

Well, typical krap. 2023 Lariat I have one side "C" light working and the other side not. The side that does not work has the other lights in the fixture working fine, just not the "C" bracket.

I am not seeing any others with this same issue, but my guess would be that Ford wants us to remove the whole front clip to replace the entire light fixture that probably costs a dozen "C" notes. Any thoughts?

Doubt the whole front clip has to come off, just the light assembly. What all is involved I don't know, but considering the body panels go together first at the assembly line there's got to be a way to take them off relatively easily.

If you're under warranty just let the dealer do it.

Well I hope an easy fix is the case, but lately it seems that “design for serviceability” is a concept lost with many automotive designers. I have had to do some crazy stunts to replace a headlight bulb or replace a spark plug. I am in the “let the dealer handle it” camp no matter how aggravating that may be these days. Good luck.
