Another possible option not mentioned is perhaps running the lines out of the cab low at the toe board and forward inside the frame rail channel. If you can find or make brackets that fit the compressor low and to the right side of the engine (left as you look under the hood) you can keep everything down low and out of sight, then going to the condenser near the bottom of the radiator and low through the support.

I made my A/C system from scratch and it's a 52 so my solution probably doesn't apply. I can say that once you mount your compressor and the unit in the cab, you can run the lines however you want.

I ran my A/C lines through the passenger fender well and into the cab with bulkhead fittings like some of the others that posted. My Sanden compressor is on a home made mount on the driver side cylinder head so I ran my lines low as I could across the front of the radiator/condenser above the splash pan. Oh, I also used a couple U-bend it hard lines where I could.

Maybe this helps or gives some ideas. Good luck with your project.
Scott in AZ.

Once I finish the A/C install on mine, I hope to drive it more to make sure I like how everything works before I take it back apart to paint it. Hopefully I'll see you out and about in your's. You've got a nice truck! We'd like to get out of the Valley some, and drive up where its cool.

Ken,

It would be fun to meet up but it's still pretty hot here too. Not Phoenix hot: just 98 - 100°. Let me know when works for you. curt@cmgriggs.com
