My dad just gifted me his 1967 Ford F100. He purchased it new with the "Ranger" trim package. On his original title it has 4PU under Series/Body. When I transferred the title it came to me with Model 4PU and Body style: TRUCK, 4DR. Maybe I should just go on with life, but I do not like that it says 4DR when it is NOT! Can anyone tell me what the 4PU referred to on the original. I have researched that there is a 4th generation but only up to 1966. Thanks for any info.
It most likely is the trim code on the original title, but it still is messed up. Check your trim code on the metal driver's door tag. It would be plenty $$$ to fix at DMV. Get a Marti Report for sure. https://www.fordification.com/tech/VIN67.htm
It is possible that where you registered/licensed the vehicle, that is a standard that they use in your state/county.
As an example, I had a vehicle like a Bronco, and the DMV had the model down as a Station Wagon.
It is probably nothing, but you might as well question them as they will/should give you the correct answer.
If it is a mistake, it can be corrected.

Hold on. Decode does not sound right on body code L 81, very uncommon and highly unusual to have a green interior on a black Ranger. Body code must be I, which would be: Ranger vinyl bench seat. Red Barcelona and Dark Red crinkle vinyl. Door panels, steering wheel and column are also color coordinated Red.

Yes! Everything was correct except the interior color which is definitely red.
