F60 = F600 gas, 4x2

A = 330 2V MD FT gas V8

K = Kansas City Assembly Plant

700419 = 1965 numerical series, June 1965 production

174 = 174 inch wheelbase

G = Chrome Yellow (looks like some peeking out around the warranty plate)

F602 = F600 gas, 4x2, 20,000 lbs GVWR

481
4 = Beige Vinyl
81 = Cab and chassis vehicle

N = New Process model 435 four speed transmission OR Dana (Spicer) model 5652 five speed direct transmission (both use the same code for '64-'65) (Shop manual says 5 speed)

F8 = Eaton model 13802 two speed rear axle, 15,000 lbs capacity, 6.33 / 8.81 ratios
No front axle code. Only optional front axle codes were listed between '64 & '69, so assume this to be a Ford axle with at least 5,000 lbs capacity and no power steering.

20000 = 20,000 lbs GVWR

160 3800 = 160 Certified Net HP @ 3800 RPM

650493
65 = Oklahoma City District Sales Office
0493 = Special Order Number

Check your wheels--widowmaker Firestones were on a lot of these.

Your attachments didn't work. Please try posting them again.

If you can see a split in the ring, you're good.

There are no new drums available for your truck. That number doesn't come up when you do a search.

But, if it's in good condition, run it.

Shoes, springs etc are available but a bit of a hunt.

NAPA on line (change your vehicle type to "Medium/Heavy") shows a kit for the rear brakes, and individual parts as well, plus wheel cylinders.

Width and diameter are what you need.

Brake and equipment in MPLS MN will reline your old shoes, and most likely have hardware too. No location on your avatar, so I don't know if its close

I live in Gotebo, Oklahoma.
Changing gear just a little.
If a person wanted to change out complete rear-end assembly ( for something later model ) what would be a good year to start measuring with.

Honestly I can find several trucks in my area that I can buy the complete truck cheaper than buying tires and wheels for this truck.
What years and model numbers (Ford,) rear-end assembly would be compatible?

I don't know the specs on the spring pads. Are you looking for newer brakes and wheels as the reason for the swap?

Does this truck run? Drive/steer/go/shift/stop?

Yes mainly runs and drives, brakes need repair.(Wheel Cylinders or kits), Unable to find decent price on replacement tires and wheels for truck. Yes it drives but needs wheel cylinders and brakes on rear. Can find a complete rear-end assemble with ten holes wheels 22.5 and good radial tires.
If I can find one with decent radial tires and wheels it will be cheaper cheaper than replacing all the items and still having to find wheels and tires.
