Welcome to FTE!

F60 = F600 gas, 4x2

C = 330 2V MD FT gas V8 (Medium Duty has 352/360 cast crank, FE oil drive and distributor drive, possibly FE water pump or other items.)

174 = 174 inch wheelbase

J = Red

F602 = F600 gas, 4x2, 20,000 lbs GVWR

481
4 = Biege Vinyl
81 = Cab and chassis vehicle

A = New Process model 435 four speed transmission

F7C
F7 = Eaton model 13802 two speed rear axle, 15,000 lbs capacity, 5.83 / 8.11 ratios
C = Ford-Rockwell (Timken) front axle, 6,000 lbs capacity

20000 = 20,000 lbs GVWR

164 3800 = 164 Certified Net HP @ 3800 RPM

Check your wheels. Widowmakers were still in circulation in '66, and may be hub piloted to boot.

Thanks so much! Appreciate you pointing those wheels out. It appears there's alot to learn on these vehicles. I know a little about the two speed rear ends but probably a whole lot more to learn.

Noooooo . . .
GVRW is 20,000. The truck itself's weight has to be subtracted from that; I use a generic 9,000-ish for a std stakeside or grain bed, so around 5.5T left.

If you've got a real dump bed (not just a plain hoist & grain bed), or a water tank or whatever, your numbers will be different. But nowhere near 2T.

"1/2", 2,5, whatever-- those "ratings" are leftovers from a bygone era. F600s from that era can have a gvwr of 17,000 to 24,000 depending on model.
