I just got a pair of Bronco horse embles to put on my rig. I was curious how you would mount them, do you drill holes for the pins and do you attach anything on the end of the pin, once its mounted, to keep it from coming off. Any methods, tips would be appreciated, all my bronco has is the word bronco so I will have to create the mounting holes on the body. Thanks!
Well, you could drill holes, and use a bolt/nut style thing to keep them in, or get some double-sided tape...it works for everything, mirrors, emblems, anything you need to stick on your truck that you don't feel like drilling for
Ford used locating holes for the pins (on the emblem) to align on the fenders, along with 3M double sided emblem tape to secure them. As Blade_62 mentioned, you can avoid drilling the holes by cutting / filing off the locator pins, and then securing the emblem with tape, only. Visit your local auto body supplier (the guys who supply your local body shops). They make a film that will allow you to push the emblem against, and remove it with an even coat of adhesive on just the emblem, itself. Saves a lot of hassle with trimming, etc. I used this when I reapplied my 'Bronco' emblems and it worked like a charm. They should also have just about every other version of the emblem tape made.
