In this recent video, Mitchell Watts of Town & Country Ford outlines the five things that he doesn't like about the 2025 Ford Super Duty.
Why would one want a console shifter in a truck built to work? The column shifter is up in a place where it can't be bumped accidentally, you can't drop something on the gear select buttons, etc. Keep the column shift, please.
Personally I don't use the B-pillar mounted buttons on anything, even my wife's Expedition, so that's no loss to me - but I do see its usefulness.
And I'm not sold on BlueCruise yet...though I think most of the components are in place, I would be it is coming still.

The last thing I want to see on the roads is a bunch of Johnny Cabs hauling around overloaded/improperly loaded trailers full of scrap to make a few bucks. Not sure about where you folks are, but they are a menace here and cause lots of problems. Lets not give them even more to cause issues by resting between loading up at every "come get my old lawnmower" post.
The local police are trying, but I know one who has no license, insurance, registration, has been arrested for violating those things and now has no tags on truck because they took them as well. Still driving around with scrap loading down his beat to hell super duty. It's missing bumpers, front grill, four different random on the side of road tires, yet....still going strong risking every poor soul that gets behind or near them as they weave and swerve with ticking time bombs overloaded ready to blow any minute. If they ban it while a trailer is connected it wouldn't stop the ones who overload the bed.
As for his other points, I don't want a console shifter, I enjoy the extra space and don't use it as cup holders. I didn't even have an issue with the console shifter in my F-150, but now that I don't have one again I am glad. Keypad is coming back, they screwed up and realized it already.

Majority of comments on the video do not agree.
I think Ford made a mistake for 2025 doing away with the Superduty supercab shortbed. I would have bought a new truck this year, but not now since there's no SCSB option. I know crewcab dominates sales, but where I live there is a high percentage of SCSB trucks.

Keypad is a good option. Does not affect my truck either way.

Having had a SCSB...I don't miss it. The rear doors eventually got loose and made the front doors loose, with a CC you gain 6"+ of interior room for gear/people/pets, and the price difference is negligible. I honestly don't think you'll see the SCSB come back.
I'm not a big console person, and particularly in a pickup truck. The only thing I want sticking up out of the floor is a manual shift lever and/or a manual transfer case shift, but I live in 1970 I guess.
I still don't understand what the huge draw is to the keypad on the door/pillar. Everyone seems to be having a fit about it, so I guess there is something to it.
There are other, bigger fish to fry as far as I'm concerned. The lack of 2WD options in anything but an XL, the engine options, the fact that they are starting to cheap out on things like the axles and the transmission, the very poor performance of the Sync system... those are all things I'd be worried about before the center console and the lack of a keypad.
I use it all the time, in fact it's one of the big reasons I keep buying fords. I always keep my truck locked but I don't always have my key on me. But I also live on a small ranch and regularly I'm in a situation where I need to get in my truck but don't need to drive it anywhere. Now I could use my cell phone to unlock it remotely but that's a fairly recent function. It was introduced in 1980 and I haven't been using it that long but for over 2 decades now I've always been able to walk over to my truck with nothing but a little knowledge and get in it. I can't even count now how many times I've encountered people that have locked something in their vehicle and now they can't get in it without wedges, bladders, coat hangers, or calling some service in. Yes even on some Fords when those never bothered to learn their code. Sometimes I'm in a situation where I lock my keys in the vehicle on purpose like if I go to a concert, festival, or theme park. I can't lose the keys if they're locked in the vehicle! To me I'm baffled why other manufacturers haven't done it. But nowadays with smart phone apps if I were 18 all over again I could believe that I'd never get accustomed to using it.
No, I got it... everyone does their own thing. Personally, because I'm in and out of my truck 30 times a day, my solution is to carry one fob in my pocket (which, these days, means the whole stupid switchblade key fob thingy...) and I leave the other key in the ignition, or in the console. I get up in the morning, my knife, chapstik, and eye drops go in my left pocket, my key goes in my right pocket... no matter what I'm doing.
