I need help
I have a 1975 f350 with a 390 in it, I put a brand new edelbrock avs 2 on it and a new fuel pump but for some reason it doesn’t like to fill the bowl of the carb, I can only run it until the bowl of the carb runs empty, any suggestions or ideas to help me solve this problem?

New mechanicial fuel pump could be BAD, been known to happen? Can you disconnect the IN port hose on the fuel pump (line coming from the tank) and put a short piece on it and then drop it in a 2.5 gal pony tank. Even setting on the ground next to the tire will work. And take the line off the carb, and point it down ward and turn the truck over does it pull fuel in and squirt fuel out the carb line?
Again have the line coming from the mech fuel pump facing down and away and or wrap the disconnect end with a shop rag, so as not so squirt fuel all over the engine compartment.

I would check the fuel pump, and I would have more confidence in it than the Edelbrock. if it's getting fuel your best bet is to take the carb off and throw it as far as you can. buy a new 4160 and never look back.
