Even though they have been increasing the price of the 7.3 gas engine lately, I remember in 2020 it was a $2,045 option.
The dollar figure is only part of the equation and misleading if you don't consider the associated upgrades. In 2020 the 2k surcharge also gets you also the 10R140 instead of the 6R100, it wasn't just for the engine.
for 26 it sounds like for the non-Tremor F250s you get the same 10R100 as the 6.8 V8.

Did the 2k for the engine also upgrade my transmission? I thought the 2020 F350 came standard with the 10 speed 10R140. I will admit I don't follow all the changes closely, but I think what you are saying applies to the F250, so I am not sure if the surcharge got me something other than just the engine upgrade.

In 2020-2022 the F250 typically started around 1500 dollar cheaper than an otherwise identical trim and cab configuration F350.
I need to find the exact pricing guide but the 2k surcharge was on F250s only. In 2021 the upgrade cost was 1700 on F350s so the upcharge was not likely to be $2045 for F350s in 2020, such as here
Looking forward to seeing the first detailed order breakdown with individual pricing included for these '26 Super Duty trucks.
Never realized that dealerships shut down for the holiday weekend and/or that enthusiast interest had dipped so low in terms of new releases. I suppose that today's pricing is a huge factor.
If I had a '25 on order(?) I'd be at my dealership yesterday putting this all to rest.

any time frame on the 2026 build and price tool on the website? How long des it usually take to get put up. It is also strange that when you go to the super duty site on ford.com it defaults to 2024 and you have to click to get to the 2025 part of the website.

It'll be interesting this week to see if any of your questions get answered in addition to the many above.
So much in play right now with the stakes also being historically high.
Some of us just want order a truck yet get to the bottom of all this beforehand.

What's with the theatrics? Ford has raised prices so much over the last 5 years on SDs, what makes the next round of price increase "stakes...being historically high"?

FORD has a $3(+) billion plant being built right now in a foreign country embroiled in the largest tariff/economic war in the history of man...not to mention that same plant poised to deliver trucks sporting engines that the jury is currently out on....IF said trucks can ever be built economically there in the first place due to said ongoing tariff war and multi-billion if not trillion negotiations in play at this very moment about to possibly change the face/direction of world economies forever.
That's what I call theatre.

Oh no, Ford's historical plan to offshore more production while charging historically more each MY may not go historically unimpeded as they would like.
Maybe people like you will shed a tear for them but count me out. LOL. Interesting how you all worldly economists were silent during 2021-2024. On Jan 21, 2025 all the geniuses WOKE up and decided with remarkable synchronicity that uninhibited free trade is now good for everyone.
