That's fine and I do... but do not act like water cannot be a potential problem, hence why there's water separators on these trucks, because this modern fuel is not my Dad's diesel he was using when driving big trucks. But to each their own I guess...

Not buying or selling. Just not buying into it. Been checking my fuel for 3+ years since watching one of A Rods videos regarding water in fuel. This truck I own sits for several months at a time and I check it every 6 weeks on average - even after the DCR conversion. I see no trace of water in samples of fuel I have taken.

I use additive to increase cetane, add lubricity as I don't have a DCR, as a fuel system cleaner, control moisture which in my case would probably be more of a concern in the cold winter months, anti-gel in winter time, lower the combustion temps of soot, and fuel stabilizer.

I use it for my DPF because I drive my truck, everyday, unloaded. I'm not hauling a massive camper on the bed and a fishing boat like you, which works the engine hard and gets those EGTs hot and the emissions real hot, which helps with passive regeneration.

So I'm doing what I believe is the best for a unloaded daily driver and keeping the regen intervals out. My saving grace is living south of Buffalo where the elevation starts to go up on the Expressway I take in for work and where I complete my active regens.

It's okay you don't agree with me, and I'm not here to convince anyone of anything but its not snake oil because you've never found water.

Water can be a problem, especially now that most of the fuel now being sold in our country is up to a B5 blend (there's no need to label it on the pump when its up to a B5), biodiesel in itself is a bigger problem with water than the ULSD fuel itself.

You want to think this stuff is snake oil, have at it. You're now running a DCR so it probably wouldn't be an issue for you like it is for me with a CP4 up north.

I'm going to keep doing what I do and hopefully I never need a DCR. But if down the line, once our younger son is older and we are down to one dog (have 3 now), if we decide to travel across country, I'd definitely consider getting a DCR installed and probably still use additives...

No, I get it. If I didn't go to a DCR and had the travel routine I have I might delve into the 'additive' rabbit hole. I can see where lubricity might be a good thing to have with our fuels in the states and the track history of CP4's.

I actually emailed S & S and asked if they recommended an additive and which one, they replied that I could run one but said it was not necessary.

These are expensive vehicles and very costly to have work done on - parts/labor. I can understand doing whatever an owner thinks helps keep these mills running smooth.

For the record I haven't had a net on any of my boats in the last 30+ years. The number of those rod setups has me intrigued though lol.

Even if I went a DCR, I'd run an additive for the fuel cleaning aspect. Plus I also looked into alphaltenes, which is a byproduct of combustion, which can clog fuel filters (black in color) and are put back into solution by K100D. I've seen fuel filters online that are really dark brown and sometimes close to black...

I run filters out close to the 22.5k mile limit due to my OCIs are out at 7k plus (let the truck tell me when to change oil). I also monitor primary fuel pressure on my primary iDash. I've never had any problems doing this but its good to watch primary pressure since I do. Have plans to add an Air Dog to feed the DFCM (factory primary pump) also...

Yes sir... I'm just doing what I do is all trying to keep my 16 going.

Yeah I found the boat meme and since you showed yours, I thought I'd post up...

Was actually going to post this up.

I run Power Services and have since I bought my truck, the previous and original owner a close friend ran it since the first fill up, that said this video is a bigger endorsement for deleting emissions equipment than choosing a fuel additive lol!
