I do not know about the OP but I have 60 lb pull solenoids that take a 30 amp fuse each, I did some relay logic so only one can be activated at a time.
Thanks! I never thought about the actuators being that stout. It makes my suggestion completely moot.
ok...here we are. I've got the latch installed in the door and the latch release hardware (door ****) fitted up where it works properly.
but now I found that the teeth on the shaft are buggered up badly and the handle won't fit on the shaft.
I've ordered a replacement shaft from Carpenter and "he" says to just press the old one out and install the new one with
a pin holding it in place.
I've tried driving the shaft out of the mount with a drift and hammer but nothing is moving...and I'm wondering what is going
to fly apart inside the assembly when I remove the shaft (if I get it out) Could use some expert advise here on removing\replacing the shaft
You used the Altman kit like I did on my last two builds. John did the same as I did on my first build and just bought bear claw latches and why there is a difference.. https://jniolon.classicpickup.com/be...awlatches.html
I still really wonder how Altman expects you to attach a solenoid cable or rod to the latches the way they are configured in the kit. I actually bought the kit that was made just for shaved door handles, it was slightly cheaper because it did not include a outside handle lever.
I see how when you guys just had latches and no kit you installed them the way that you did because that is the only way a solenoid cable would work with mods.
