No start after HPOP replacement
No start after HPOP replacement
I need some help. Let me start by saying I'm not the mechanic, just have a little bit of mechanical knowledge...but my mechanic is having a hard time with this. 6.0 with high miles....
Issue 1: truck started having a no start condition after warming up. Had to let it cool down 20 minutes before it would restart.
Issue 2: Driving one day, the truck died out several times. Was able to get it to the mechanic and found the fuel pump was going out. Repaired and started, but issue 1 was still there.
Got the truck back and it definitely had more power. Talked to the mechanic after researching and one symptom of the HPOP going out and agreed it could be the issue, even though only one symptom was present. Towing a trailer one day, all symptoms popped up. Knocking, loss of power and died. Took it to the mechanic to get it changed. New HPOP, ICP, etc....good oil pressure, good fuel pressure, good FICM voltage, passed air test....will not start!
i talked to the mechanic today about a compression test, since it is a high mileage issue. He feels that shouldn't cause a no start, because it was running and died. He'll do it anyway, but feel like we're at the "throw money at it" stage. Any suggestions what we could be missing? Thank you in advance!
