Ignition switch position

Ignition switch position
I have tried countless times to align the gear in the cylinder lock to the plastic actuator, and I can not get the truck to start. It will start when you unbolt the ignition switch and use your thumb to move the pin to start the truck. Any suggestions?

No clue. What truck are you working on? How far apart have you had it that you have the lock cylinder out and a gear?

2000 F350. I replaced the shifter tube, shaft, and lever. I put the lock cylinder in and it turn truck and accessories on, but no start.

2000 F350. I replaced the shifter tube, shaft, and lever. I put the lock cylinder in and it turns the truck and accessories on, but no start.
